Thanksgiving's passed peacefully, Advent wreath is lit, church looks great in purple.
Finals start next week, in less then a month, it's X-mas, and then there is the NYC trip and New Year's Eve and the vow to finish a manuscript during the "break".
Hmm, yeah, I kinda suck at film camera --not that it means I'm great with digital, it's just more forgiving. Here is one of the pictures I managed to salvage with heavy Photoshopping.
"Tolong besok jangan lupa nonton jam 11, di ABC kali,...iya di ABC. Ya, gitu aja deh, gue lagi di perjalanan menuju tanah suci, OK. Makasih."
My desperately-wanted-to-get-engaged-to-be-married-to-this-great-gal-but-has-been-forced-to-postpone- it-to-an-unspecificied-time-in-the-future-due-to-some-primordial-technical-difficultiesblog buddy, who turned out to be a one-time Rumbaian and a fellow recipient of a certain college scholarship program two years my senior, left me a message last Saturday morning. He was reffering to that Aggies vs. Sooners game, in which we, the Aggies, lost 30-36. He's a die hard Sooner, you see. It turned out I didn't have a chance to watch it on TV. [Btw, d, have you guys finally met in person, yet?]
"we didn't get beaten all that much." "it didn't look like it on the first quarter, 21-0. everyone was sleeping already :p" "oh, well, i should read the recaps. gimana ini OU kapan lagi mulai berjaya. :p" "Don't worry, lots of freshmen." "bosen ama USC." "F USC"
Ha ha ha.
I'd better stop now, these 5 AM posts have been cutting my Gun Smoke and Bonanza time precious five hours of sleep lately. Man, and it's only MONDAY.
This person sensed your inaudible sigh and turned to you smiling and said, "I see you have another complaint about that guy."
Now you really get that joke:
Why is it so hard for women to find men that are sensitive, caring and good-looking?
-Because they already have boyfriends.

"Bueller."
You didn't notice that an MSN chat window had been activated until many hours after. And when you finally did, you had a big smile. It was your friend's (possibly) desperate attempt to find out why you rarely answer his online messages. The thing is, your account is set to be automatically on whenever the PC starts and that it is not always you sitting in front of the monitor.
You miss the guy (PS: in the most platonic way possible) for that kind of stuff he does to get your attention. Stuff like using a reference of something that only both of you know --well in this case, you and other people who have watched this-- in the most appropriate way.
**----**
You love it when people responded nicely to your inquiry, you are a social being afterall.
Hey, what's that stuff on your left foot? Do you hurt or something? Oh, nah, I'm okay, it was from my old pair of shoes.
And later in return,
Hey, do you know the way to the birthday guy's apartment? Nope. Just follow me.(He was really careful to make sure you won't miss a sight of his driving, he even assisted you on a tricky parallel parking.)
International Students Association's Mini Olympics exhibition games (co-ed basketball)
We lost both to Taiwan and Japan --you don't want to know the scores. But then again, a) we didn't practice (as a team) at all, and second, they had only one girl at most on every game (excuses excuses). Anyway, the real ones will be on this coming weekend, and we'll definitely be prepared by then. So, stay tuned.
The sky is clear. You recognize the glowing red, it's Venus, along with other heavenly bodies names and constellations you only wish you would know by heart. But anyway, there's something else that bothers you. It's the weather, it's chilling right to the bones, literally. You, as usual, have underestimated this place's extreme weather change . You then put your hands on the pockets of your windbreaker. At least you've brought that jacket along, you'd say, and then you start walking home.
You suddenly remember, you have that trusty player, the one with the rebate form you haven't sent out. You fish it out of your bookstore bag and play your favorite song of the day, what other than Queen's Under Pressure, it seems fitting for the situation. You turn up the volume and start a lip-sync.
You walk briskly while carefully choosing the route with the most street lights on. You hope that you will get home safely as before. You have to be extra careful these days what with the increasing crime rate in your neighborhood.
While walking, you ponder about all these, specifically, your state of life on the past few years. You realize, you have an uncanny ability to nurture your melancholic self to the super-saturation point of patheticness. Will the sacrifices justify the end? Will the end justify the sacrifices? Is it just another journey you have to embark innocently and faithfully? Why does it itch so much? Oops, sorry, just slip out of my mind while trying to keep a consistent first person/third person, whatever, point of view. So, where were we? Oh, okay, got it.
After another replay of the song, you safely reach home. You change into your jammies, set the alarm, and slip under the comforter. You then put part of the sham to cover your eyes. In an hour, the sun will rise, in four hours you have to get up for your classes. It is, afterall, just another of your everydayness.
