To prevent Kyocera KX414's draining its battery ever so quickly:
Menu-->Settings-->Display-->Screen Saver-->None
Menu-->Settings-->Display-->Backlighting-->5 seconds
Menu-->Settings-->Network-->Digital/Analog-->Automatic
