Attempted movie review from an innocent movie goer

It is nice to witness a great director paid tribute to everything he held dear all this time; in this case, the Asian martial art genre, anime, Star Trek, and the 70's. Kill Bill vol. 1 is a (part of a) movie about action (gory and all) but not necessarily about a story. The B&W, the slomo, the anime-ted sequence, and the non-sequential plot add up to one interestingly beautiful (part of a) flick.

I wish it wouldn't have to be edited into 2 volumes (a definite marketing ploy?). I could sit for another 2 hours, curious to just how the complete picture will lead us to understand the plot. How did she determine the order on her revenge-list, what's up with this Bill, why did Black Mamba become the victim or is she the real victim?

Uma plays the vengeance-full character beautifully but the one that I have my heart for is Sonny Chiba, the sword-maker. It is interesting to note that the women play larger roles in this movie.
