You know, just please do yourself a big favor. If you were ever going to help anybody, do it sincerely. You can take my name off that f*ckedup paper for all I care. I don't need that kind of mumbo-jumbo!!!!

What?? Looks like there will be a dissolution of the MacFarlanes' marriage. His book is the first of one, and safe it is to say, is the only one of this genre I' ve ever encountered. I am not that familiar with his other line of works, but judging from his public display of "holyness" all this time, the divorce or annulment or whatever it is they're working on is plain ridiculous. So, what happened, Bud?

In the spur of the moment, I would rather:
a. Transfer to other advisor
2. Transfer to other school
III. Quit PhD all together & go find myself a job, even the worthless ones.

I honestly loathe thee, Dr. K!!!!!!
Pardon my hostility.

As promised before...

This is a picture of Ndoros Xinda & Yadda posing somewhere in the China town. We had just finished a late afternoon dimsum session and some oriental grocering, which was followed by a visit to the bubble tea place and the Chinese bakery next door. Oh, for a bit more fun for the day out, we decided to put some teenagery make-up on. Could you guys spot it? Anyway, the next stop was the MFAH.

This is a picture of Ndoros Xinda & Yadda (again) posing from the roof top garage of the MFAH. Cool, eh? It was around 5:30-6 PM, the sun was just setting. You could not trade anything for a piece of serenity like that in the big city.

This is a blurry me posing inside the museum. It is one of the few places inside that they let people take pictures. I didn't remember what was the painting I was earnestly explored. But I do remember this, the two paintings on the back were by Impressionists Cassat and one of the unfinished Manet. High art, low art, what is art, anyway?

We didn't have any film left in the camera, so there was no picturesque commemoration of the hearty, yummy burgers (Jamaican Jerk, Wild Salmon, House) we three consumed at Hobbit Cafe. You guys just have to take my words, those ranked very high on the list of the finest burgers I've ever had in my entire burger-eating career.

I'm off to South Padre in a couple hours, adios amigos!

My head still suffers from pulling an all-nighter to (start and) finish a homework that due today. But anyway, the class itself was less torturous. That was partially due to the professor who took the liberty to distribute two boxes of Girl Scout Cookies (his granddaughter's) and a sheet of John Bardeen's short profile along in the hand-outs. So, instead of paying attention to yet another set of band diagrams lecture, I was busy munching on the snack while calculating Dr. Bardeen's age profile during his education and professional working period, in which the Two Nobel prizes were awarded on his behalf. (He graduated from HS by the age of 15, got a BS and MS by the time he's 25, a PhD at 28. In between, he had been a Research fellow in Harvard, a "Geophysicist", and an "Electrical Engineer". His first Nobel was in '56, for the invention of the transistor effect, and the second was in '72, for the superconductor work.)

The other 3/4 of the class period, my thoughts were flying somewhere to the Spring Break plan. Throughout my graduate studies to date, I've never taken a whole week break. Let's just say, I've been following the tradition of the people in the research group to dedicate all of the available time to the advancement of the research. Even with such dedications, students in this particular research group graduate years later than their fellow classmates. But this year, it's gonna be different. I am going to be a rebel (with a cause, and yes, to my own expense). I am taking the next Thursday and the whole weekend off to flee 400-something miles down to the South Padre Island. We (as in the sibblings, the neighbors, anybody else interested on the trip) haven't been working on the details accomodation and places to visit, yet. A day or two should be enough to figure those things out.

Coming out next time, the scanned pictures & accompanying stories of last Saturday's Houston trip.

Holler,
X

Dear Ms. N********:
...
For this year's competition, we received many strong applications and the judging was extremely difficult. We were greatly impressed by the high quality of the applications received, including your own. Nevertheless, I regret to inform you that you were not selected as an award finalist for the 2004 MRS Spring Meeting.
...

This has crushed my selfless soul into a billion tiny pieces.
Better start working harder.

Joy has been married to her husband Tim for almost ten years. She enjoys spending time with her 4 children, Dancing, Gardening, Trips to the River and Home Improvement projects.

You guys wouldn't think that Dancing, Gardening, Trips to the River and Home Improvement projects are the names of her children, would you? Hiayahauhauah...This just made my day.

A couple days ago, well, Monday, the sibblings and I went watching this movie. I couldn't go on to discuss the significance of the movie to me, let's just say it's way too personal. However, I don't think it is as controversial as what others say, if one views it as an artistic rendering of a 2000-year old faith. Here is an external review of the movie. Here is a Blooper Reel of the movie, in words.

Dear readers,

Please pardon the occasional sentimental lyrics postings, if you would. I am trying to circumvent that phase of life when everything is boring and tiring. So far, there has been no avail to these attempts. Hopes tomorrow will be different.

Love,
The tediously bored Miss X

Wade in the Water

If you don't believe I did begin to wade in the Water
Just see the holy ghost looking for me
